Magnetizing Water

Note: in the following article I refer to "magnetizing water" and "magnetized water." This does not mean that the water has acquired a magnetic charge, only that the water has been subjected to a strong magnetic field, which has changed certain properties of that water.

It is always amazing to me what people are drawn to. Ever since I published Lessons from the Miracle Doctors, I have probably received more questions on one topic than on any other. In the chapter dedicated to water, I devoted three paragraphs to using magnets to increase the bioavailablity of water. For some reason, those three paragraphs have probably elicited more questions than anything else in the book. So let's explore this topic in a little more detail

The Need for Water

Water is essential for life. It is the primary solvent and transport system in our bodies. All nutrients and fuel are carried into our cells on water. All waste is carried out on water. Our blood flows because of water; our nerves transport electric charges via water. Water is fundamental to the existence of all life. But not all water is created equal.

Although all water consists of the same basic H20 molecules, water nevertheless varies according to how these molecules bond together to form "water molecule groups." To put it simply, it is in the size of these groupings that water differs.

The smaller the groupings, the more bioavailable the water is -- the more easily it is able to pass through cell walls, to transport nutrients and remove waste, to facilitate all of the the communications systems in your body, and to pass through your body as a whole. The larger the groupings the more inefficient water is at performing these same functions.

What holds water molecules together in clusters is surface tension. This is what you see when you wash your car and the water beads up in droplets on the hood. When washing your car, you use detergent to break that surface tension -- which breaks apart the large molecular clusters, making the water wetter and better able to clean. Obviously, you can't use detergent to "improve" the bioavailability of your drinking water. But you can use magnetics.

Magnetizing your drinking water breaks its surface tension, making it wetter and more useable by every cell in your body. In addition, there's a strong secondary benefit. Applying a magnetic field to water can not only make it wetter, but it can also raise its pH (up to a full point, depending on the water).

The difference is not subtle. Over the past couple of years, Kristen and I have had at least 100 people over our house who have taste tested the water. First they take a drink of the water that comes from our filter. Then they taste the same water that has been magnetized. NOT ONE of those 100 has failed to notice the difference. The standard comment is, "It tastes wetter." The difference is that pronounced.

The ratio of small cluster water to large cluster water changes over time in your body. When you are born, there is a high percentage of small cluster water present. As you age, however, that percentage steadily drops -- eventually becoming almost nonexistent.

One of the problems is that small cluster water is not stable. (The electric charges inherent in water continually cause the small clusters to bind together into larger and larger clusters. And to make matters worse, the process is accelerated when water is exposed to air and light.

Water On the Market

Recently, in health food stores, I've noticed that they are now selling small cluster water in little bottles for large prices.

It's not that the water is not good. It is. Small cluster water significantly enhances your body's ability to absorb nutrients (including all of the vitamins and minerals). And it also aids remarkably in any detoxification programs you run. (As a side note, it also makes any prescription drugs you take more "effective" for the very same reasons -- something to keep in mind if you use such things.)

But the bottom line is why would you want to pay inflated prices for small amounts of clustered water when you could have as much as you wanted for FREE?

Instructions for Magnetizing Water

Take a large sun tea jar and use epoxy glue to attach several ceramic disc magnets (800 gauss or better) to the jar. Make sure that north is facing in for all of the magnets that you attach. You can find disc magnets almost anyplace that sells magnets. We used the magnets off of an old Nikken mattress pad. We used 10 magnets -- 5 on each side of the jar. They worked great. You could easily taste the fact that the water was "wetter," and they raised the pH of the water a full 1/2 point. Water placed in this jar will fully magnetize very quickly -- in 5-10 minutes, or less.

I am looking for links where someone proved there is a health benifit. Maybe a study on people or even on normal cell growth maybe done in petre dishes. One with cancer cells being affected would be nice as well.

Thanks to anyone who can help with this. ;)

Hi I have a bioresonance device which can show me the affect of what ever I put in or on my body. I recently started using magnets on my body to help alkalize myself and then started using them to detoxify my organs when I saw how fast they could clear toxic particles in my organs. I also read that they can lower blood pressure so I put them over my heat. To boost my immune system I put one over my Thymus gland and now it shows clear of toxins. I use the word Toxins to mean just about anything that should not be there. Magnets have been used to clear parasites from the body. For myself I do not feel a difference using them but can see that they are doing a great job clearing my body of bad things using the bioresonance device. I put one magnet on the top of my head at night and dont have sleep problems. I could go on and on. I almost always use the North side next to me skin but the body is also divided up into Positive ( south) and Negative ( North) and you have to know which side to use where and when to use which side of the magnet. is where I found my magnets and lots of info on using them.

I purchased my magnets on amazon, they are 800 gauss, and I was wondering if it only works on a sun jar, or if I can put them on my brita water pitcher?

    Thanks :)

It will work on anything non-metallic. But be sure and test it for yourself to see if you can notice any difference.

I really loved this experiment and thanks for the great info.
So when you mentioned that the magnets have to be 800 gauss or better, what would be the maximum strength of the magnet?
Can i use a 2800 gauss for this?

Is there any truth to the "erdwin clausen, Jr" comment, (from 1/1/2012) where I think he's saying that applying the little magnets to the jar, with the wrong pole facing inward, "will cause tumors/cancer to grow faster in your body"??? If this is true...then there is no room for error.

There is a huge difference between magnetic fields applied directly to the human body and magnetic fields applied to water that you subsequently drink. Different principles apply.

Hi~ as an empath who is affected by everything in the universe, I am very open to trying magnetized water. I ordered a magnetic plate from Life Sources. Will this be a good product to try this? From what I understand you place a pitcher of water on it to magnetize. I have many health issues including Lipidema, a painful fat disorder consisting of Lipomas- with secondary Lymphedema. Do you-in your opinion-think that magnetized water could help me and if so, why. Lymphedema is the swelling of legs and feet. We only know both involve the Lymph system being inefficient. I will not hold you to your answer as right or wrong, just asking your opinion. Thank you. There is no help or cure for this and I will take anything i can get that may help.

We’ve never tested with a plate—only with the magnets arranged as indicated in the article. And there is nothing that we know of that indicates that water altered by a magnetic field (again, the water itself is not actually magnetized) would directly affect the lymph system. Let us know how it works for you.

Make sure to do a search on our site to see other remedies as well.

Hi, I would like to ask if I use 800 gauss on my water glass jar. Can I take the water as a normal drinking water, because some says that Magnetized water shouldnt be taken as a normal drinking water. This should be taken 3 days a day in 60ml (but these are magnetized using 3000-7000 gaus). Or the water should be magnetized using lower gauss like 800 gauss for us to be able to use it as a normal drinking water. Also, much does the glass sunkist jar can contain, I mean how many ML or Liters? Can i use neodymium magnets intead of normal ref magnets. Please advise. Thank you so much and more power.

Thanks for the article! What would be the effect of keeping water in the jar between opposite poles ( between noth and south pole) , would it be beneficial, since, it is hard to know the specific poles and keeping water between wrong poles may not be recommended ?

Also, would you recommend keeping water in a bottle in a magnetite powder and get it charged ?

I was wondering why you face the negative pole of magnet toward the water? I've read in several articles that the north and south do different things as energy, cleansing/detoxify and break down of gull stones etc...Can you please explain why you have chosen the north pole of the magnet? Can the South Pole be dangerous?

    Thank you.

The best simplest and easiest method of drinking hydrogen rich wAter is drinking it from an alkaline water ionizer. It is little bit expensive there are alternative methods also. Check every thing and find out which suits you better.

Does anyone have any evidence or studies for anything they said, im having trouble finding anything that been done in a lab and documented? Im having trouble beliveing it actually is "wetter" define wetter scientifically, what specifc resulting bond causes this "wetter" you can see how the molecules are grouped before hand in detail? What is the exact difference in that detail after being exposed to magnetisation and not magnetised? "wetter" kind of discredits your scientific scrutiny and no observation about the lenghth of time molecular bonds are held for? Kind regards

Searching for a good topic to assist my son with a science project, I came across your article and experiment. Both hubby and I were not sure if it was going to work, but we tried anyway - and were most surprised with the results.
Now, I do have some questions though which I don't see having being answered above:
    1) Can this water be used for making tea/coffee or cooking.
    2) What effect will it have if this water is used in cooking
    3) Does the water de-magnetize after being removed from the jar with the magnets?

Thank you for a wonderful article :-)

I totally agreed. I practiced this since 1980 and so many people laughing at me. Again in 1990 I told my friends about this and no one will take it. 1998 I build a device that very similiar to yours, except I used two magnetic bars hold on the 1.5 litre wine bottle, guess what, one person said " please do some thing for real". I am still continue praticing the magnetic energy for human body. Thanks.

This was a fantastic article. I have just trained to be a magnet therapist using static magnets and have just learned about this during my course. I will do this with my water from now on. We are electrical beings with a large part of our bodies made up of water so this makes complete sense to me.
